01 · THE HALF-DAY ROUTE

Four Hours to See
More of Wadi Rum.

Wadi Rum desert landscape during a Jeep tour

A four-hour Jeep journey gives the desert more room to unfold. Starting from Rum Village, the route moves through historic sites, red dunes, sandstone canyons and distinctive rock formations before returning to the village.

With eleven planned stops, the experience follows a broader sequence across Wadi Rum rather than focusing on only a few nearby sights. There is time to leave the Jeep at selected places for walking, climbing and sandboarding before continuing through the desert.

02 · The Route

Eleven Stops Across
Wadi Rum

The four-hour itinerary follows a longer sequence through the desert, combining historical landmarks, open red-sand landscapes, narrow canyon walls and natural rock formations.

01

Rum Village

Begin the journey from Wadi Rum Village before heading into the protected desert area by 4×4 Jeep.

02

Nabataean Temple

Start with a historic site near the village and connect the journey with Wadi Rum’s ancient past.

03

Lawrence’s Spring

Stop at this well-known landmark and take in the desert views around the sandstone mountains.

04

Wadi Umm Ishrin

Move into the red sand dunes for a climb and a chance to try sandboarding.

05

Khazali Canyon

Explore the canyon walls and see ancient Nabataean and Thamudic inscriptions inside the passage.

06

Small Natural Bridge

Climb the sandstone formation and enjoy views across Khor Al Ajram.

07

Lawrence’s House

Continue the route to the remains known as Lawrence’s House, another historic stop in the desert.

08

Mushroom Rock

Pause beside one of Wadi Rum’s distinctive naturally shaped rock formations.

09

Abu Khashabah Canyon

Walk through the canyon and enjoy another opportunity for sandboarding.

10

Um Fruth Natural Bridge

Climb the impressive rock bridge, rising around 20 metres, for panoramic desert views.

11

Return to Rum Village

Finish the four-hour desert circuit with a scenic drive back to Wadi Rum Village.

Route timing and the order of stops can depend on desert conditions and the pace of the day.

03 · A LONGER DESERT WINDOW

More time to move through the landscape.

The four-hour format is built around a longer sequence rather than a quick selection of sights. The journey can move from historic places to dunes, from narrow canyon walls to larger sandstone formations, giving each part of the route its own character.

The route also creates space for selected stops away from the Jeep, including walking, climbing and sandboarding at the dunes and Abu Khashabah Canyon.
