Born in Wadi Rum. Raised by the desert. Guided by tradition.
I’m Khaled Sabbah Atieg, a local Bedouin guide born and raised in Wadi Rum Protected Area. My family has lived in this desert for generations, and the knowledge of its landscapes, routes and traditions has been passed down through our family.
Through Khaled’s Camp, I welcome travelers to experience Wadi Rum with local guidance, Bedouin hospitality and direct knowledge of the desert we call home.

Wadi Rum is not only where we work. It is the place our family has called home for generations.
Guided by the knowledge of our elders, we learned how to read the desert, understand its routes and respect its changing conditions. This knowledge remains at the centre of every journey we arrange.
Bedouin hospitality is part of daily life here. It is expressed through welcoming guests, sharing food and tea, and helping visitors experience the desert with local people who know it directly.

Our team helps with the daily operation of the camp, welcoming guests and arranging tours across Wadi Rum. Each member brings direct local knowledge and experience of life in the desert.
During the busy seasons of autumn and spring, additional Bedouin team members from Rum Village join us to support the camp and our guests.

The camp
A desert camp inside Wadi Rum
A peaceful base for exploring the protected area, staying overnight and experiencing daily Bedouin hospitality.
Surrounded by desert landscapes, with sunrise and sunset viewpoints close to the camp.
Khaled’s Camp is located inside Wadi Rum Protected Area, approximately 12 kilometres from Rum Village. Guests are transported between our office in the village and the camp.
The camp has 25 tents: 15 traditional Bedouin goat-hair tents and 10 private desert tents with bathrooms inside. The camp is powered by solar energy.

Bedouin Tent
Private goat-hair tents with two, three or four beds. Separate shared bathroom and shower facilities are available for women and men.
Private bathroom
Private Desert Tent
A private tent for two or three guests with a bathroom inside, wooden flooring and a large window looking towards the desert.
Outdoor sleeping
Sand Dune Beds
Mattresses and blankets prepared directly on the sand for a night outdoors beneath the stars, with flexible space for different group sizes.
Secluded desert night
Private Cave
A quiet outdoor sleeping place with mattresses and blankets arranged on the ground beneath the rock and open desert sky.

Reaching us is simple, whether you’re coming from Amman, Aqaba, or Petra:
From Amman
Use JETT or Trust Bus to Aqaba, then transfer to Wadi Rum.
From Petra
Daily local buses to Rum Village at 6:00 a.m. (reserve through your hotel).
Private Taxi or Car Rentals
Available across Jordan.
Direct transportation
We also provide direct transportation services from any location in Jordan to our camp, and back again.
