The Wadi Rum Experience
From Jeep to Camelback
On day 1, your desert experience begins with a warm welcome at our office in Rum Village, where you’ll be greeted with a cup of Bedouin tea and introduced to your personal guide.
The journey starts at Lawrence’s Spring, a historic site tied to Lawrence of Arabia and the Arab Revolt. Next, climb the red sand dunes of Wadi Rum, where panoramic views reward your effort. From there, explore Khazali Canyon, known for ancient Nabataean inscriptions that tell stories of early desert life and trade.
A short drive brings you to the Small Natural Bridge, offering stunning views after a brief climb. Continue to Lawrence’s House, where the famous British officer once stayed. Marvel at the wind-sculpted Mushroom Rock, a unique natural sandstone formation.
Your adventure continues with a hike through the Abu Khashabah Canyon. This 40-minute walk features towering rock formations and ends with an exciting chance to sandboard. Recharge with a traditional Bedouin lunch prepared fresh by your guide in the heart of the desert.
After lunch, visit the majestic Um Fruth Rock Bridge, one of Wadi Rum’s most iconic formations, and climb it for an elevated view. Then, take in the panoramic vistas of Wadi Rum—where red, white, and yellow sand dunes stretch across the landscape, and the setting sun casts a magical glow.
Before returning to camp, stop by Chicken Rock, a quirky natural formation shaped like a chicken, perfect for photos.
Arrive at our desert campsite just in time to enjoy sunset tea on a raised platform with spectacular views. Afterward, retreat to the sitting tent for a traditional Bedouin dinner. The night continues with stargazing or relaxing around the campfire, soaking in the silence of the desert.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise, followed by a warm Bedouin breakfast. Then, begin a tranquil 2-hour camel ride back to Rum Village.
